Grab your sunglasses … the Global Design Project has a BRIGHT color challenge for you. This week we are using Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy. Grab these colors and get to making. While we use Stampin’ Up! colors please note that any bright yellow, green and deep blue will do.
I made few cards using these colors. Isn’t it interesting to see how much color plays a role in your crafting? This first card features the small flower for the Free as a Bird Stamp set. I created a quick circle watercolor wash on the base layer in Pineapple Punch. The ‘Thanks for Being You’ sentiment is stamped directly onto the yellow in Night of Navy. The Flowers and leaves are also stamped on watercolor paper in Night of Navy and Granny Apple Green. The ink was pulled from the stamped images to create this painterly effect. This card is very petty in these colors don’t you think?
The next two cards I created use the new word bundle called ‘A Wish for Everything’. That name says it all - this stamp set truly has a sentiment for just about every occasion. The dies include larger sentiments that pair with the smaller stamp greeting. These colors scream HAPPY so this next card is all about the HAPPY. The ‘happy’ die has been cut in the three colors and stacked on the front of the card for the focal point. The background features the stamp set. I stamping WISHING YOU in Pineapple punch, HAPPY in Granny Apple Green and BIRTHDAY in Night of Navy a bazillion times to create that all over background.
This is a great color combo for a birthday card. This last card pulls in the balloon punch to help give a few more pops of color.
What do you think? I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this Global Design Project Challenge. Be sure to take your project #gdp193 and happy stamping!
