Hello! Who enjoys watermelon? I sure do. It’s sweet, refreshing and sometimes messy ...what’s not to love? My projects today are inspired by the love of a good juicy watermelon.
These projects use the Fruit Basket Photopolymer Bundle (item 145977), Tutti-frutti Designer Series Papers (item 145606) and the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies (item 137547).
ENJOY BIRTHDAY CARD: This watermelon birthday card turned out so cute and was easy to create. The stamped background is the sweetest part of this card. I used the citrus slice and citrus rind stamp images to create the mini watermelon image.
Create a juicy watermelon background in four easy steps:
- Stamp the watermelon image in Melon Mambo Classic Stampin' Pad (item 126948) repeatedly onto Watercolor Paper (item 122959).
- For that juicy watermelon effect, spritz the stamped Watercolor Paper with a Stampin' Spritzer (item 126185). Repeat until you get the desired amount of ink bleed. Let dry.
- Stamp the rind image in Emerald Envy Classic Stampin' Pad (item 141396) on top of each watermelon image. Stamping the rind image on top of the spritzed watermelon image helps define and keep the watermelon recognizable.
- Use a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item 100082) to color in the watermelon seeds.
Here are a few more watermelon projects to help get your creative juices flowing. Enjoy!
Bonus material: This hand painted watermelon ended up being the primary image for the 'You're the Sweetest' card (shown above). Paint your own primary image using Classic Stampin' inks and an aqua painter. It's easy and fun to do. Use the images from the stamp set as your guide if you are not sure where to begin. I added a few watermelon seeds after the paint dried using a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. The greeting was also stamped onto the watermelon once dry.
