Hello friends. Welcome! The Global Design Project has a sketch challenge for you to participate in this week. It's a great sketch with many ways to interpret the design. I chose to feature and sneak peek a few new products coming soon from Stampin' Up! (June 1st). The stamp set is called Sea of Textures and included this awesome Octopus and many sea themed texture backgrounds. The coordinating framelits are called Under the Sea and include dies to cut out the Octopus as well as the awesome netting that's also shown on the card. The Designer Series Papers are called Tranquil Textures. This suite of products has a really cool look and is super easy to use.
Notice how the Octopus is multi-colored? I used two inks, (Blueberry Bushel and Berry Burst) and the Stamp-A-Ratus to create this multi-colored effect on the Octopus. To recreate this look stamp the Octopus in Blueberry Bushel ink first. Then re ink the Octopus image around the edges only using Berry Burst and stamp again. Repeat as often as you'd like to get the desired effect. The Stamp-A-Ratus makes it super easy to ink as many times as you need. Note - I went back in with a blender pen to color the whites of the squid legs and make them appear a softer pink and blue.
Check out what the GDP designers have created with this sketch and play along with us. Tag your projects #GDP138. Thanks for visiting and happy stamping!
