Global Design Project - CASE Challenge - GDP204 - Sailing Home
I love a super clean and simple sketch. This week we get to CASE this card by the talented Kerstin Kreis.
What struck me first about her card is the layout, overall symmetry and strong focal point. I tried to incorporate those three elements into my CASE version.
My project uses the Sailing Away Suite of products and the stitched rectangle dies. I love how clean and simple this card is. A good sketch is always a great place to start. A full list of supplies can be found below.
My husband and I recently celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary with a sunset harbor sailing cruise. While the weather was kind of foggy and overcast it was still a beautiful evening. The next day we even had an opportunity to visit a couple of lighthouses in Maine. Perfect card for this occasion!
Join us. Want to play along? Give this CASE a try. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this Global Design Project Challenge. Be sure to take your project #gdp204 so we can see your creation.
Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!

Sailing Home - Stamp Review Crew
Welcome to the Sailing Home edition of Stamp Review Crew.
What can I say? Love this set and the various projects I’ve seen made with the stamp images. The vintage look of the imagery is super appealing to me. For my card this week I changed up the suggested colors of this suite by incorporating a little Terracotta Tile. It’s cool how just a little pop of a complimentary color can change the entire look of a collection.
What is the Stamp Review Crew? We are an international group of paper crafters that get together to feature and review a single Stampin’ Up! stamp set on the first and third Monday of each month. All of our previous stamp set reviews are archived. Click here to see all of the hops!
Ready for more inspiration using this stamp set? Next up is Holly. Be sure to go through the hop to see what ALL my talented friends have created using this set. Thanks in advance for taking the time to comment. I love to hear from you.

Fancy Friday Blog Hop - All about the Designer Series Paper!
Hello friends! It’s all about the Designer Series Paper for this Fancy Friday hop.
Do you ever have an idea where a project is going to go and then it doesn’t come to fruition? Well, that is what happened to me this round. I had grand plans to create a home decor piece using papers but I came up empty handed. I am typically a crafter who makes with a purpose and I had no idea what to make. Lol. I did however need to make Father’s Day cards and so I set off to create a few of those focused around a FANTASTIC new paper called Come Sail Away. These papers are available next week (June 4th) and are nautical in theme but also have really useable generic patterns.
Often a little snip of paper can go a really long way. On this Anchor card the blue and white stripe paper really packs a punch with just a little peek. The Anchor is from the stamp set called Sail Away and the Greeting is from the set called A Wish For Everything.
It’s hard to pick a favorite pattern from this paper pack but I might been leaning toward the old newspaper clipping sheet. It looks pretty authentic, just like it was torn out of an old newspaper. I pushed that look a little farther by tearing and stressing the edge of the paper.
The Father’s Day die cuts are from the A Wish For Everything bundle. Additional card supplies are listed at the end of this post.
Thanks for taking a minute to stop by today. Who are we? The Fancy Friday team is a group of Stampin' Up! Artisan's, both past and present. We hop once a month, on the last Friday of the month.
Are you ready? So much inspiration is in store from my fancy friends. Next up is Teneale. Seriously, this girl is so talented! I can’t wait to see what she made.
