Hey there! My name is Charlet and I am creating from Maine! Today I am sharing two spinner cards created using the For the Record stamp set and the Give it a Whirl dies. Interactive cards are so fun and the stamped record image works great as a spinner!
These cards have me singing ‘You Spin Me Round’ by Dead or Alive, remember that song from the 80’s? These bright and colorful cards sure have an 80’s vibe. I stamped each record image in Versamark on Basic Gray cardstock and heat set using black embossing powder from the Basics Embossing Powder. I love the look of high gloss black embossing on the record.
On this card I popped up the stars and large banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This extra height allows the record to spin underneath these elements when you use the wheel dial.
The Give it a Whirl dies work great with the For the Record stamp set. The smaller sentiments from the stamp set fit perfectly in the banner die and the hearts and stars die cuts make great accents for the record.
Use the 3” circle die from the Layering Circle dies to cut out the record. The pattern papers from the Abstract Beauty Designer Series papers are 4’x6” and are the perfect size for a card front. This card uses the painted stripe Magenta Madness pattern from the paper pack with the card front die from Give It a Whirl dies.
I wanted the record to spin by using the wheel dial. Use the Take your Pick tool to create a small hole in the record for the brad to fit through. Using the Take You Pick tool enlarge the hole on the card from piece (make that hole approximately .25” in diameter). Add a glue dot the center of the wheel dial. Place the card front piece over top of dial allowing glue dot to be revealed in the enlarged hole. Align and attach the record to the wheel dial with a brad (the card front piece is sandwiched between the two). You can have the record spin with a brad alone, however in order to have the record spin with the wheel dial you will need the record and the dial to be stuck together at the center.
