Hello friends! Welcome to the December Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design hop. This month the team is featuring the Frosted Floral product suite. This suite of product includes so many goodies. I choose to feature the First Frost bundle (stamp set and dies), Frosted Floral Designer Series papers, Iridescent Boxwood Wreaths and the Tranquil Tide Velvet ribbon. Velvet ribbon = YUM. A full list of supplies can be found at the end of this post.
Let’s chat about a couple of details on this ‘Wishing You the Best’ card. Did you notice the flower stamp images are a little pink and purple? First, I stamped the images in Rich Razzleberry and then used a Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write marker to selectively color in a few of the lighter areas. So easy. I like the look of this and I think it adds depth to those flowers.
The dies that coordinate with the First Frost stamp set are super versatile. I use label shapes on my projects all the time and was excited to see layering labels in this bundle. I opted to use those two dies a little differently than intended. I cut the large label first from Whisper White card stock. Next I cut out the smaller label from the inside of the larger label, creating a delicate little window. Then I lined the window with vellum. I love how you can see bits of the stamped flowers behind and in front of the window label.
The window on this card opens to the inside (it’s not lined with anything). First die cut the window, then emboss. ICYMI - I use the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Embossing folder all the time. It appears on every 4th or 5th project I create. When it’s good, it GOOD! So, no surprise, I’ve used it here again. I love the look of wood texture and find it makes a nice subtle card base.
The window opening is embellished and decorated with products from this suite. The ‘Congratulations’ sentiment and a piece of the boxwood wreath float in the label window opening.
Fun stuff.
Ah, how can 2018 be coming to a close already? What a year! I’m wishing you all the best. Thank you for all the LOVE, encouragement, and friendship. I’ve sure grown on this Artisan journey. It’s been a true joy and blessing to create for Stampin’ Up! … I’m not done. While the title is handed over to a new crew, I’ll still be stamping, crafting and creating just as much as ever. I’m permanently infected with the paper crafting bug.
DRUMROLL and CONGRATULATIONS … Are you as excited as I am to welcome the 2019 Artisan design team to the Artisan family!? These gals are an amazing crew of crafters, each with their own unique style and dedication to the craft. I’m certain you will be inspired by them this next year. Give a big HELLO and congratulations to the new crew (links below). Also, a round of high fives to the three returning 2018 members (Emma, Lauren, & Sylwia).
Below is just a tiny sneak of what is in store for you on this hop. Thanks again for visiting. Hope your Holidays are full of love and that your new year brings opportunities for you to grow, try new things, and STAMP! Up next on the last 2018 Artisan hop is the amazingly talented Connie Collins. I’m drooling over her card. Maybe I can get her to mail it to me?! Big hugs, Charlet
