Hello friends! Welcome to another Stampin' Up! Artisan blog hop. This round we are featuring a fabulous new Garden Impressions Suite of products. My projects feature the Abstract Impressions stamp set, the Springtime Impressions Thinlits and the Garden Impressions Designer Series Papers
The Abstract Impressions stamp set includes multiple two-step and three-step images. I was instantly drawn to the large three-step flower. I played around with various color combinations and love the addition of gold & Grapefruit Grove on Calypso Coral.
The Springtime Impressions Thinlets include a beautiful intricate floral and butterfly designs. Both of these cards feature the large butterfly die cut.
"If flowers were hugs, I'd send you a thousand", I love this sentiment and how it is typeset in this stamp set. It might be my favorite verse from this set. I stamped this sentiment in Versamark on a sheet of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Papers and then heat set with white emboss powder.
The large butterfly has been cut from Whisper White card stock and then layered on top of a sheet of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Papers. I love how this white butterfly literally pops of the card.
The metallic shimmer of the gold embossing looks amazing layered on these stamped flowers. I love it! So much so that I duplicated the look on a bonus card shown at the end of this post.
This butterfly card has a subtle watercolor wash in Soft Sea Foam in the background. You may notice the is the exact size as our new ink pads. Here's a cool tip to create a simple and fast watercolor background.
1. Wet the watercolor paper
2. Use a classic ink pad as a stamp and press the pad lightly and directly onto the wet watercolor paper.
3. Blend and distribute the ink as desired with an Aqua Painter.
Check out all those sparkly little details ... the coral faceted gem, the gold embossing, gold glimmer paper, gold thread and ribbon with golden threads woven in. It would of been hard to add any more bling.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you've found a tiny bit of inspiration to help you in your crafting. Up next is fellow artisan, friend and super talented crafter Connie Collins.
